Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge: 2016 Week 27
An interesting sign… not sure how useful it is since it is possible the driver is busy checking his/her smart phone too. 😉

Other than wanting to learn something new, I took these courses hoping to “force” myself thinking about taking photos every day. So far, it went well. I did think about it for all 3 days. Of course, I still have 7 days to go 😉
Developing Your Eye I, Day Three: “Water”

Developing Your Eye II, Day Three: “Scale”

Thanks for visiting my blog.
Developing Your Eye I, Day Two: “Street”

The above photo was taken at 17th floor of the Gonda building. It shows my favorite area in town.
Developing Your Eye II, Day Two: “Mystery”

Where is Forest Gump? Why did he leave his shoes and luggage here at Fisherman’s Wharf? It’s a mystery for me. But… what I really want to know is: can I have a piece of chocolate?
Thank you for visiting my blog.
Blogging University is offering two photography courses now: Developing Your Eye I and II. For the next 10 days, they will email a daily photo theme to inspire the participators. Not sure I will be able to do the homework every day, but I would love being inspired no matter what 😉
Developing Your Eye I, Day One: “Home”

Developing Your Eye II, Day One: “Warm”

OK, maybe I cheated a little. Just a little though. 😉 Thanks for visiting my blog. By the way, I am sure you can still sign up for the courses.
Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge: 2016 Week 26
I am sure most of you have noticed that the line in front of women’s restroom is always much longer than the one in front of men’s (most of the time, they don’t even have a line!) One department store may have found a good solution for this problem.
When I saw a scale by the reception desk, I was so sure that I would be charged by the weight I’d gained after eating there. Not true. It was there for kids to play with, I was told. So, I got confused… who would like to play with a scale?

Some people in my neighborhood, apparently, couldn’t wait until 4th to celebrate 4th of July. That’s fine with me since I just read an article on how to take firework photos and was anxious to give it a try. Even though the article said that we had to use a tripod, I didn’t use one because I only wanted to test the camera settings tonight. And I do like what I see. However, I will definitely use a tripod next time 😉 If you are interested in reading it, here is the article: Taking Pictures of fireworks.
Happy 4th of July!

Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: Heads or Facial Features
I was in DC last week. I had a great time visiting my sister and my nephew’s families. I don’t know since when I had had this problem: should I take photos or not? I like taking candid photos, and that means I have to have my camera ready all the time, and I constantly look for those moments. After doing that for a while, one day I suddenly realized that I had missed a lot of conversations with friends and families. So I stopped taking photos while chatting with them. Then, of course, I missed many great photo opportunities. Do you have same problem? Any good solution?
By the way, I will be away for a while and will not be able to post or visit your blog ;-( Take care and have wonderful weeks.
Here are a couple of photos I took last week. Kids grow up so fast… ;-(

While visiting my nephew’s family in Virginia, one day we drove by a blue house.
“I like that blue house,” my great-niece said.
“Me, too,” I said.
She turned around, beamed at me. “We like the same thing! Yeah, we are twins!”

Recently a couple of bloggers had written about their meetings with other bloggers they met online. Each encounter sounded wonderful and fun. I was a little jealous. 😉 Since Oregon (Cee), Texas (Amy), Florida (Lois), Melbourne, Sydney, Africa, Taiwan… is too far; I emailed Yan at From Hiding to Blogging asking her if she would like to meet for a cup of coffee. She said yes… I was delighted. So… this raining morning, I drove 1.5 hours to Mall of American to see Yan.
My impression of Yan, other than nice and beautiful, was that she was a business woman. Even when she wrote about her personal story, somehow, I could sense a little business-writing flavor in it. I expected to see a tough, no-nonsense woman 😉 But that impression/expectation was changed before I even left the house when I received a text message from her saying “It’s raining. Drive carefully.”
We drank coffee; we ate lunch; we shopped for a while. I enjoyed our time together and we planned to meet again.
Wish all my blogger friends live around here. 😉
