Recently a couple of bloggers had written about their meetings with other bloggers they met online. Each encounter sounded wonderful and fun. I was a little jealous. 😉 Since Oregon (Cee), Texas (Amy), Florida (Lois), Melbourne, Sydney, Africa, Taiwan… is too far; I emailed Yan at From Hiding to Blogging asking her if she would like to meet for a cup of coffee. She said yes… I was delighted. So… this raining morning, I drove 1.5 hours to Mall of American to see Yan.
My impression of Yan, other than nice and beautiful, was that she was a business woman. Even when she wrote about her personal story, somehow, I could sense a little business-writing flavor in it. I expected to see a tough, no-nonsense woman 😉 But that impression/expectation was changed before I even left the house when I received a text message from her saying “It’s raining. Drive carefully.”
We drank coffee; we ate lunch; we shopped for a while. I enjoyed our time together and we planned to meet again.
Wish all my blogger friends live around here. 😉
Thanks for visiting my blog.
It is so cool that you got to meet Yan. That is such a lovely photo of the two of you together, and glad to hear the two of you had a good day. Yan has such a great blog (and you too, Helen!), and I’ve also always imagined her to be a businesswoman. But from what you’ve shared, she has such a heart and is not afraid to share it. I hope the two of you can meet up again soon. Take care 🙂

Thanks for your comment. It is vey interesting to meet bloggers that I follow. For some reason, I always have a picture of the person and feel like I know him/her. Of course, quite often, I totally got it wrong. Ha.

Oops, I forgot to say Yan took the photo. It was the night before I went to DC and I was trying to pack and… etc. But taking a photo was my idea though 😉

It was quite interesting. At first, I could sense of a little awkwardness; good thing it went away soon after. 😉

That’s lovely! I met my two Toronto friends, as you know, and last year I met another two when they visited Glasgow. It’s great to find people are just as nice in real life as they are online.

It was my very first time for me to meet with a person I know online.
It is very interesting to see myself from others’ eyes.
Thanks, Helen!

This is an example of what’s so wonderful about this blogging community. Friendships are developed with a desire to take it into the *real* world. I celebrate every time I hear about another set of bloggers actually meeting face to face. It seems to take the friendship to a new level 🙂

Wonderful. It is easier to see bloggers that lives away rather than neighboured. Talking through experience. Gosh the two of you could be related. Beautiful.
