Developing Your Eye I, Day Five: “Connect” – Tag Your Photo
I admit that I haven’t done a good job in tagging and to be honest, it is not on the top 10 items of my priority list. But this exercise makes me think, and “I think” I will pay more attention on tagging from now on.
Developing Your Eye II, Day Five: “Moment” – Capture Motion
The only motion you can tell from the following photo is from my nephew’s hand. Maple seeds look OK – because it was moving in a slow speed?
Since I was focusing on kids, the sky turned white. Question: would you color the sky blue? I couldn’t make up my mind. On one hand, (light) blue sky will add a little color to the photo even though that day was a cloudy day. On the other hand, I kind of like the white background, so viewers would focus on the main subjects. Any thought will be appreciated!
Slow shutter speed, tripod… would make the photo more interesting, but kids running around in light speed (to a senior person, it seemed like in light speed). I only had a split second to raise my camera, didn’t have enough time to focus… so it is what it is. 😉
Thanks for visiting my blog.
White sky for this one is pretty cool! Enjoy your Developing Your Eye posts, Helen 🙂

Thank you, Amy. Your words give me confidence. I wasn’t sure and that bugged me 😉 Thank you so much.

These challenges seem hard, Helen, but you are shining through with your photos. I like the white sky, also. You are doing great. It is probably a good idea I did not participate this go-round. I would still be stuck on Day 1!

It’s not hard at all, Lois. If you have signed up, we would have seen more “fun” photos. No one can compete with your sense of the humor 😉
Thanks for letting me know you like the white sky. I like it too, but something back in my mind kept telling me I “shouldn’t” like it. Your opinion helped me to see it better.
Have a wonderful evening.

It looks nice as is. Realism vs Artistic. The direction of the photo is where you want to take it. If there were clouds I might have tried to add some contrast to them.

Thanks, Lignum. I, actually, had tried coloring the sky blue and didn’t like it. But I am not totally satisfied with the white sky either. You had a great idea. When I added some grey clouds, I like the photo much better! THANKS!

Hi Helen – I am curious as to how to tag a photo – hmmm – so thx – I will look into it.
Also – side note – not sure if you have your blog this way for a reason – but it would help me if you set up your posts in the reader to be in full – otherwise i have to go to your site to see each post- and this should be easy – but for some reason i have glitches with it – anyhow – I have asked a couple others that I like to follow – to see if they need the posts truncated in the reader –
And now back to the post – I really like the white – it does allow us to focus on the subject – and also the photo seems to melt into the post – so I guess there are times when a white sky is really nice – 😉
