5 Day Black and White Challenge – Day 5

Last day of my “5 Day Black and White Challenge”! Time flies! Again, the rules are: (1) publish a black and white photo every day for 5 days (2) invite someone to participate each day.

I would like to invite Adhika from Lo and behold to participate the challenge. I not only enjoy seeing Adhika’s photos, but also learn a lot from reading his blog. I like how he explains his photo to us and I appreciate some extra knowledge he shared. You will like his blog too, I am 100% sure.

I want to thank Lois for inviting me and thank all who participated. And thank to all readers.

I want to end this challenge with a special photo: a picture of a home… even though it is someone else’ home.

    Oh, Helen! Ending on a mysterious and foreboding note…I love it. This picture was made for black and white. Perfect!

    I agree with Lois….this photo is made for black and white. I adore your point of focus on the chain and lock, it really gives the message stay away. Perfection!

      Thanks, Cee. When I saw the house, I wondered who lived there. What did they do? Great location, right by the water. Maybe there is a fiction story someone can write… Ha.

      Thank you so much!!! Like I told Amy, I picked the best 5 out of 10,000 for this challenge. If the challenge goes a little longer, you would reach to a different conclusion. With that said, at this moment, I am going to accept your compliment and enjoy it while I can. THANKS!

          You are right! I am good! Thank you! 😉
          When you really want to be 100% truthful, you get confused. At least I do. Should I picked the best photos to show people? Or should I select some that truly represent my current level? I have been wondering about that and this time I decided to show the ones I really like.
          I went out to take 60 photos today; I think I probably like 3 or 4. It’s frustrating. I plan to take a lesson when it’s getting warmer. At least, I know my strength, my weakness; I know where I stand and I have a plan on how to be better.

    A powerful image to end the B & W challenge, Helen. I don’t know what the color one looks like but I really like it in B & W. It speaks without words. Well done on the challenge. It went by quickly … didn’t it? : )

    A photo full of mystery and enigma. Why is the house looked in? Did something awful happened there? Or is it just captured by decay? A beautiful black and white image.

    Brilliant shot, Helen. Amazing photography and great B&W composition. As Otto said, there’s so much mystery about this photo. So many questions. Whose house is that? Why does it look so lonely there? Great work 🙂

      Thanks, Mabel. It’s a house by the water. My guess is people kept inviting themselves into their yard for the scenery so they put up a chain. But the house itself has some character in it so make it more interesting to me. Thank you for visiting. Have a great day.
