7-day nature photography challenge: day 1

My blogging friend Lois at On Pets and Prisoners has invited me to participate in the 7-Day Nature Photography Challenge. The mission is to post a nature photograph for 7 days and to nominate a fellow blogger each day.

I don’t enter a lot of challenges nowadays, but the timing for this challenge is good. I need a way to get back on the right track of my life. In fact, when Cee encouraged us to nominate ourselves for this challenge, I almost raised my hand. But I wasn’t sure I was ready for it. When I received the invitation from Lois, I was so happy that I knew I was ready.

Lois is a sweet, kind lady, who has a wonderful sense of humor. Everyone loves Lois! Please visit her blog and say hi 😉

I would like to invite Adhika to participate this challenge… because I miss seeing his photos.

I took these photos of my favorite tree yesterday. It was a weird day: It was quite a decent day at first, then we had a blizzard, then the sun came out (a bright blue sky with a few white clouds), and then had another blizzard, then the sun came out again (a bright blue sky with a few white clouds), then had the 3rd blizzard… “A day to stay home and do the laundry,” I said to my husband.

I couldn’t help but thinking of what had happened to me in recent years. First, I was a happy retiree. Then, I lost my dear sister Karin. After a while, I was happy again. Then I lost my brother Shao. When I was almost done grieving (I thought I did), I lost my dear friend Jeanne. Is it possible that Mother Nature was trying to tell me that there is sunshine after darkness, always? I like to think so 😉

I feel better now.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

It has certainly been a weird spring. We had a blizzard yesterday, too. And it’s been so cold it feels like winter again. Thankfully, the sun always does come out…eventually!

Awww, what a lovely message for Lois. A simple note, or a simple gesture like that, can certainly brighten’s someone’s day and tell them that someone is thinking and caring about them 🙂 That is some erratic spring weather over there. Lucky you didn’t get caught in the blizzards. Sorry to hear about what went on with your life. People come and go in our lives, and it can be hard because they mean a lot to us. Best wishes and stay strong. You sound like a strong person 🙂

Thanks, Mabel. I had fun taken those photos. 😉
I still think you are more mature (wise) than your age is supposed to be (meant to be a compliment ;-). I, on the opposite, had become more matured when I was 50, I think. I guess it’s too late for me to ask your help 😉
      Have a great day.

Thanks, Cee. You are a thoughtful person, Cee. Lois’ invitation came in at the perfect time. I don’t think I could do it a day earlier. Besides, you did invite everyone, which included me 😉
I hope you feel better now. I meant to leave a message, but we had Internet problem and several of my comments disappeared. ;-(
      Take care.

Ah, thanks for tagging me on this one, Helen! As you can tell, I need that push to post on the blog. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), I am in Florida right now for a business trip + bird photography trip. When I have the chance, I will start posting! I am glad to see you start posting again, too! 🙂

Ha ha ha… I didn’t nominate you because you needed a push. I did it because I miss reading your post and seeing your photos 😉 I am so glad that you will participate.
Hope your business trip is not too stressful. Stress is not good for anyone.
      Have a great day.

Thanks, Becky. I really want to send a card and some flowers to Lois but I don’t know her address. Hopefully this will do. 😉
Have a wonderful day. By the way, I took a glance at your blog and like it a lot. I will visit again soon.
