This is my submission for Brenda’s A Photo Study: Red.
Brenda said, “Red is the color of blood and has a historical association with sacrifice, danger, and courage. It is also the color most commonly associated with heat, danger, determination, strength, activity, passion, sexuality, anger, love and joy. ”
How can anyone not like red? I had a red shirt when I was in college. It seemed like whenever I wore it, I was happier on that day. 😉
I like seeing a splash of red in photos. A red umbrella or a red jacket will do. But that splash of red has to be in a right form at the right place, I think.
I took the following picture in Vienna. My husband, as usual, was walking 20 feet in front of me. I ran, trying to catch up. And this woman caught my eyes (maybe it was that red jacket.)
Should I stop to take a photo? I hesitated for a split second. Oh well, I can find my husband later, but if I don’t take a photo now, this moment will be gone forever, I told myself. So I stopped. (I did find my husband later, in case you wonder 😉
Thank you for visiting my blog.
I like it. She’s very elegant and self-contained.
Ha! 20 feet in front – I know someone like that.

Thanks, Anabel. I like this photo, too. I was going to post more photos, but I like this one so much that I decided to post only this 😉
One time I fell on the escalator (couldn’t handle the runaway luggage), and hurt my foot. The guy behind me helped me to get up, and kept asking me if I was ok. When I finally caught up with my husband, he asked, “Why are you talking to that guy? Do you know him?” My husband didn’t know I fell ;-(
Have a great day.

I am sure we annoy them in our own way, too. Ha ha. Sometime I think there is no right or wrong, just understand and accept 😉
Have a great day.

I love the little pops of red on the table, too! That woman reminds me of Audrey Hepburn with her upswept hair and big sunglasses. I’m glad you stopped for this, Helen.

LOIS, she reminded me of Audrey Hepburn, too!!! I was going to write that down, but on second thought I wanted to wait and see if anyone would have the same feeling! I told you we were twins in our previous life!!! I am so happy!
Have a great evening.

Thank you for sharing a Vienna moment. I like that she is in the center of the image with the people on the left redirecting my eyes to her. I also see triangles formed by the five people with her as a point in both of them.

Thanks, Brenda. It’s interesting to read your comments — either on my blog or on other’s. I can always count on you to point out something that I had missed. Thank you.
Have a great evening.

Nice capture! I also think she has the feel of Audrey Hepburn, but just in red. I agree with you that wearing red clothes will make you feel different. My wardrobe has no red clothes now, maybe it’s time to give it an update!

Thank you for your comment. I hope you will get some red clothes. 😉 Even though we have never met, believe it or not, I have a picture of you in my head. Ha. After reading someone’s blog for a while, I often feel I know the person.
Have a great day.

Re: red — I have a red shirt I like to wear. Red and black look so good together.
Re: other’s comments — I went back and looked for the triangle–yes, there it was! maybe that is part of what makes this such a great photo and why it suddenly caught your eye.
Re: husbands – I was with my mother in a wheelchair and my husband and we were crossing a street in the busy embarcadero where there are train tracks and the wheelchair was getting stuck in them. I was having a hard time of it when a passerby helped me. My husband was clueless, did not even know what had happened.

Hello, Carol. I wanted to reply your comment since the day you posted yours, but it was a busy week.
Husbands — I feel better now. Ha. I have another story that will definitely make you feel better, but after giving some thought, I think I shouldn’t post it here 😉 Just take my words — it could be worse. But like I told Anabel, I am sure we annoy them, too.
Have a great day.

I like red. When I was in college, red was my favorite.
a person wearing red stands out, anywhere! ^^

Thanks, Lady Oscar. A person wearing red stands out — that’s why I avoided red most of the time. But on the other hand, it does make me feel happy, so sometime I wear it 😉
Have a great day.

I like the business outfit. She wore red to stand out and she is.

Thanks, Phyllis. I wonder if I would notice her if she didn’t wear red 😉
Have a great day.

I think not. She wore red so she would be noticed. Then you came along and got the perfect photo.

Thanks, Julie. How is the farm? Yesterday was the first day of summer for us. What is the best season in a farm, I wonder.

It’s really all about the lady in red. And how she is totally disconnected from the world around her.

Thank you, Otto. You were right!!! I, actually, was more attracted by how she was so disconnected from the world than by her red shirt. The attraction came in a split second, and as soon as I took the photo, I didn’t remember why I did it ;-)… now I remember…
Have a wonderful day.

Good thing you decided to take the picture instead of running after your husband – art always has a price. 😉
