I forgot who introduced me the idea of flipping a photo to make it look right… our eyes usually go from left to right because we read from left to right. I remember, in my mind, flipping his image back to original, and didn’t think it had made any difference. Later, Cee did the same thing in her post, Photo Edit Walkthrough. Cee posted both before and after photo. Still, I didn’t know what the big deal was.
I had a discussion about this with Cee. We came to a conclusion that since I read Chinese from right to left (up down, then right to left), and read English from left to right, I must not be sensitive about this issue.
Several days ago, after submitting photos for my lesson-2 assignment, for some reason, I wasn’t happy, but had no idea why. Did it have anything to do with this right-to-left, left-to-right thing? Sure enough, after I flipped the photo, I felt better.
What do you think?
I think I prefer the one where the candle is towards the right

I do too! That means left-to-right, right? That’s what I am thinking anyway 😉 Thanks! Helen

It really doesn’t matter what I think, it is what makes you happiest. Anyhow they both speak differently to me and quite honestly I could go either on this one. I know I sound wishy washy but that is my opinion this morning. 🙂

Good morning, Cee. Maybe we somehow influenced each other. Now I am a little more L-2-R and you are a little more R-2-L? Ha ha ha… a weird thought, I know. Helen

I’m glad you are sharing your photo class experience. I know it takes effort and time to go through. Candle light is not easy to capture and I haven’t tried… You did a great job, Helen!

Thanks, Amy. I’ll write more about the class… after I finish my assignment ;-( Having guests for a week makes it difficult to get assignment done. I may be late handing in.

I like more the candle in the right side. I didn’t know about this until few months ago, and I think makes sense. This is a gorgeous photo!

Thanks, Elizabeth. Funny how things make sense only after we were told. (At least that was what happened to me. 😉 Helen

I like the one on the right better. Never knew that about photos either. I wonder if people who only read right-to-left instinctively take photos that way too?

I believe that means you are left-to-right 😉 which makes sense. Right? 😉 Helen
