Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #53: Your Choice (Gratitude)

This is my submission for Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #53: Your Choice (Gratitude).

Lens-Artists is one year old, do you believe that? The subject of #53 is “Your Choice”, and gratitude is what in my mind/heart.

Patti, Ann-Christine, Amy and Tina are 4 amazing bloggers. In the past year, they have come up with a subject every week, produced wonderful posts for the challenge, read every participant’s post, and left meaningful comment for each. I don’t know how they did it… probably because they are young – my excuse for everything nowadays.

Because of this challenge, I had been motivated; learned more on photographing and learned more about myself; had a few ah-ha moments… and I enjoyed every moment of it.

There were times that I would like to comment on other’s post, but because I was still busy working on mine so I didn’t (I am sorry). There were times I struggled, but when I finally got it, the joy was so huge. Once in a while, I knew right away what photo I wanted to post – that made me happy 😉 And I think I probably had become wiser. 😉

Thank you, Patti, Ann-Christine, Amy and Tina! This is for you… with gratitude and love.

I counted… due to different reasons, I had missed a little more than 1/3 of the challenges. If you had missed some like I did, here is the list.

I didn’t double check all links. I figure I can change it whenever I find something wrong. Also, I took a quick glance of number of pingbacks. Among about 20 that I looked, 76 was the biggest number. (Imagine… whoever that blogger is had to read and comment at least 76 submissions!)

Thank you, Patti, Ann-Christine, Amy and Tina!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Thank you, Helen! I haven’t had time to count, and really don’t know how to differentiate all the links and pingbacks, since my pk has been messed up more than a couple of times, so I gave it up.
Our bloggers are taking so much time to and effort respond to LA weekly theme. We are happy to visit them. Appreciate your support. 🙂

You’re welcome, Amy. Counting pingbacks is easier than I thought. Go to your post and search for the word “pingback”, it will tell you how many they are. On my PC, to find the search function, you have to click the 3 vertical dots.
You are right that pingback function didn’t work a lot of times. I was going to find out the average of pingback, but gave it up after I realized the problem.
By the way, I am not sure if this is important for you… I think you probably had missed the Lens-Artists tag for a couple of your posts. If you click the tag, you won’t see all 52 of them.
      Have a wonderful evening, Amy.

Thank you for the info about pk. Some of my posts show links from bloggers more than Pingback counts. 🙂 I have contacted WP, they didn’t want to mess with it, but admitted that it was not reliable. Oh, well…
Thank you for getting into the counts for us. 🙂

Amy, you are right. The actual number is higher. Some people don’t pk; they posted link in the comment. I didn’t want to spend too much time in counting and I only wanted a rough figure anyway. I should mention this in my post.
Even 50 is a lot of posts to visit! Hats off to you guys!

Wow Helen, thank you so much for this beautiful post – it’s posts like yours (and so many others) that make it all worthwhile ! I agree with Amy, if our participants take the time to think about and create their responses, you can bet we’re going to take the time to visit and comment! Having 4 of us makes it more possible to keep up 😊. We very much appreciate your support for our efforts

Thank you, Tina. You (all 4 of you) are doing what I am not able to do! Finding time to read all the posts I want to read and comment on all I want to comment is a huge struggle for me. I finally learned to let go somewhat. For example, I don’t reply comments as soon as I used to… etc.
I meant every word I said. I really appreciate what you have done!
      Have a great day.

Thank you for a lovely post – so much effort into everything! But I know how you feel about wanting to read everything and comment all – there is not time enough! We are doing our best, and so appreciate your positive and beautiful words! And at least I – am not young anymore… I guess I am the oldest of us four. I bet you are younger than me too, Helen. But I love the idea and appreciate your strong support!

I appreciate WordPress even more now that I have not looked at it for about a month. It is definitely so hard to find the time, or rather so easy to get distracted with all the other wonderful things the world has to offer. (For example, today is Flower Piano in the park. They set up 12 pianos all in different beautiful spots, and have wonderful music) I don’t like to skip through the posts really fast, so sometimes I give up looking at any of them! I want to get back to it. I know I can schedule about an hour a day, after all I am retired!!

Carol, how are you? I thought of you a few times during my long break…
One problem I had is that for a while, I could only focus on one thing a day. I would spend 10 hours on whatever I felt like doing, but only one thing! I hope this will change. I think it will. 😉
      Have a wonderful day.

Phyllis, how are you? I saw your post (FB?) on visiting different parks. That’s wonderful! I hope you are still doing it. I, too, stay at home too much. I need to do some change.
Have a great day. Beautiful day, today!

I stay at home because I’m recovering from Adrenal Fatigue. I thought when this summer started I was good to go, but no. I’m still healing. I had hoped to do a park a week, but that didn’t work out. But I am getting there. Someday we will meet on the trail with our cameras. Sorry it hasn’t happened yet.

Thanks, Phyllis. I am doing well. It would be better if I could stop this aging thing, but I am grateful for whatever we have had 😉 It’s been a busy year for us. Took a lot of photos and that meant a lot of photo editing (since I am taking in raw format). But I enjoy every second of it.
Hope you’ll get well soon. Give yourself time to heal!
            Have a wonderful day.

Time to heal is definitely what I am doing. I’ve done a fair amount of reading. Seems the fountain of youth is in our hormones. If you are interested, I can recommend a 3 books and a YouTube. As my Hormones are resetting, I’m getting better and better.

Thanks, Phyllis. Would you please send me the link for YouTube? I don’t think I will have time to read a book for a while ;-(
            Good night.

What a lovely thing to do, Helen. 🙂 🙂 I generally only visit people who comment and pop into my Reader whenever I can make time, but I check likes if I have a few minutes and often ‘find’ old friends. I hope all remains well with you, and that you are busy and happy.

Thanks, Jo. I am busy and happy 😉 I used to say people should retire when they at 50; now I think 40 is even better!
I like the way you are doing it: only visit people who comment and pop into my Reader whenever I can make time… etc. I may copy you! 😉
I am still wondering how is it possible to “walk” every Monday at different places for so long. Have you thought of having a map showing all the places you have covered? I certainly feel like to see it 😉
      Have a wonderful day.

Thanks, darlin 🙂 🙂 Quite a few of my walks have been repeated over the years, but my style has altered a little (hopefully for the better 🙂 ) as have some of the places. It would be quite hard to produce a map as there are quite a few countries involved. One day I suppose I could write a ‘where Jo’s been’ 🙂
