Raj started a new Photo Story Series, and it goes like this: he writes the first part of the story, and we will continue writing 2nd, 3rd…, etc. (Every week one contribution will be chosen as a part of the official story and we go from there.) And, hopefully, we will come up with a good story at the end of month… something like that 😉 Please stop at Raj’s blog to find out the rules and read the first part of September story.
Here is my photo and my second part of the story. (I probably will try this once a month at the most… so little free time after retiring, let me tell you…
As soon as he passes the security door, he starts looking around, even though he knows very well that she’s not in the crowd. As a matter of fact, if he sees her, he wouldn’t even know what to say. Still, he keeps searching.
What’s wrong with me? I haven’t thought of her for 6 months now. Wait a second… does this have something to do with the tea I drank on the plane? I should’ve asked for Jack for sure.
On his way to the parking lot, he looks up. The sky clearly is grey.

The contemplative videos I have found thus far seem to be more like info commercials; yet, I did find an interesting website. Maybe Ted Forbes and the Candid Camera have set a standard for educational videos that I expect to see.

Do you know the difference between Miksang and contemplative photograph? Miksang is a form of contemplative photograph, so it’s possible to be a contemplative photograph but not Miksang? I am not very clear on that.

Helen, this is a great question! After a bit of thought, I wonder if the difference can be found when comparing breathing meditation that invites us to keep returning to the breath and the mindful meditation that I’ve read in Thich Nhat Hanh’s work, “‘Breathing in, I am aware of my in-breath. Breathing out, I am aware of my out-breath. Mindful mediation seems to be like a self-guided meditation and Miksang seems to be a self-guided contemplative practice. Does this make sense?

One challenge for a writing project like Raj’s is that every person has a different writing voice/style. 😉 It will be fun to watch what will happen next…

I wanted to comment when you first introduced your idea of this challenge, but I had too many things in my mind at the time and later forgot to ;-( I think this is more complicated than photo challenges. I can’t wait to see how it goes. Good luck.

It is complicated .. but one can be very creative here with respect to writing and imagination. Only thing is it has to come to an end properly. When many people are involved I think my jog becomes easy. Now I let you sleep. Good night to you!

Thank you, Dina. It’s quite a challenge 😉 Long time ago, one of my friends and I were thinking of writing a novel together — we would take turns and the whole novel would be written in two voices. That was fun. We wrote many chapters, but unfortunately we didn’t finish the book. I would do it again if I find a good partner 😉 In Raj’s project, each write 10 sentences — I don’t know how it will work out. It will be an interesting experience for all for sure 😉
