Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: Soft, Blue, and Patterns

First, here is my entry for Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: Patterns.

We finally built a deck last year (Was it two years ago?) And I was fascinated by what I saw below the deck.

The last photo was taken at The National Portrait Gallery. I wish I was using my D750 instead of my iPhone!

We have held our family gathering once a year at Chesapeake Bay for several years now. This year, almost every day, we blanketed with beautiful soft light. When I saw Tina pick “soft” as the theme for the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge (Soft) two weeks ago, I smiled.

And I remember Dad said, “Your mom’s heart is soft like tofu.”

Finally, here is my entry for last week’s challenge… Patti had selected “Blue” as the theme for the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge (Blue) last week.

      You are braver than I am. We live close to a beautiful walking/biking trail and it took me several years to build up the courage to go there by myself, and you hiked up to the mountain all by yourself! I wish I were brave like you 😉

        I don’t think it takes as much courage as desire to be in nature and to be surrounded by peace. That’s what I feel every time I go hiking. Unfortunately, it’s too hot now and I have to wait until autumn to go again.

      Thanks, Perpetua. I am not that good in taking photos with iPhone, but it is very convenient. 😉
      I think I have inherited my mom’s heart, but I think I am tougher than she was 😉

    Nice job on both words – and the flow was perfect – the 1996 photo had some blue dark tones and it was just a well-rounded variety post that had a theme of lines and splashes of people (and the ending photo was all summer…)

    Great series for the challenges – and of course I must love Patterns most…The National Portrait Gallery shot is a beauty. Even with a phone!

    Wonderful interpretation of the challenge, Helen. Such a variety of shots all round. What a lovely view during your family gathering. Always a good time to spend with the ones you love. Really like the second last blue shot…looks like it was blue hour and a feast getting prepared inside. Hope all is well 🙂

      Thank you, Mabel. I like that second last photo, too. I was taking a photo of the house in the blue hour, that was it. Only when I saw the photo on my PC, I realized I could clearly see everyone inside of the house, and I love that a lot. 😉 Sometime you’re lucky, ha.

        Dharma? Wow, Helen great move. Teach us also. 🙂 Even Hinduism also has a concept of Dharma. I think its there everywhere most of the time we are unaware of its existence. Enjoy! 👏

    Helen–these are all so beautiful! The National Portrait Gallery and the boardwalk with two chairs are my absolute favorites. That house in the ‘blue’ photo is gorgeous. Question for you: in the first photo, you have a path of rocks in your yard? I could use that…too much upkeep in my backyard.

      Thanks, Lois. Sorry for the late reply. Wei had another surgery to remove a bladder tumor. It turned out that the tumor was very small and it’s non-invasive. He is back as he was before now 😉
      No, we don’t have a path of rocks. Those rocks are against the wall (back of the house). I had flowers planted there before building the deck. Now, we moved flowers. I am lazy. I like easy maintained yard 😉
