It was 25 degree, and not too windy — for us, that qualified as a good winter day. So we visited two parks, and once again, we remembered why we love Minnesota so much.
Thanks for visiting my blog.

If Minnesota is as inviting looking as your photos, I might just have to try winter holidays over there! Balmy ay, eh, Helen. Good evening, p

It is quite inviting… when the temperature gets up there. I stayed home for many days this winter ;-(

Ah, Helen. Such beauty is why I left Minnesota. 🙂 Growing up in northwest Minnesota where the wind and snow combined for some incredible blizzards, I just had to look for warmer climates. 🙂

I know what you mean. I love wind in 3 out of 4 seasons. But, for some reason, we have more windy days in winter ;-( Right now, all the snow are gone from trees, 43 degrees, and it is quite windy. I think I like yesterday better. 😉
Have a great day, Marie.

Winter like in Finland. 🙂

Yes. I saw a lot of pretty winter photos from that area. When I think of Finland in winter, the first thing comes to my mind is “sauna and Ice swimming”. I wonder why we don’t do it here since we have plenty of lakes. Hmm…
Thank you for your comment. Have a great day.

Thank you, Jo. How did you know I was wearing a big scarf, and a long warm coat, and a warm but not too pretty hat (I will skip all the layers of clothes)? 😉
I bought a pair of “photographer gloves”, but, I didn’t think it was warm enough.
Have a great trip, Jo.

It was, indeed. Today is 43 degrees (heat wave to us), but windy. I would rather have a colder, and not windy day.
Thanks for your comment. Have a great day/evening.

I agree a bright cold day is much better than a windy day. Anyways we have more negatives and double negation is not positive in case of weather. It is windy and rainy.

How can you beat scenes such as these? I see why you love MN.

Thank you, GP. I hope they make others like MN a little more, too.
I was thinking about one of your reply on your blog. You said, “If I get just one person curious enough to research on their own – then I have been a very successful person!!”
I, actually, have a different opinion on that. I think based on the number of people visited your blog, you already are a successful person. Every person is different. I’ll be honest with you, someday I am afraid of reading those kind of stories, because I care too much to see they get hurt. I don’t know how to say it. I am not a brave person for sure 😉 (Someday I am stronger 😉
Anyway, you provide us a connection to those who had done so much for our country, so they wouldn’t be forgotten. And for that reason, I believe you are a very successful person.
Have a great day.

I really appreciate you saying so, Helen. I have to admit, sitting here reading your comment – I ended up blushing a bit. It’s encouragement like that that makes it all worth while!!
I can understand you having trouble reading some posts, don’t feel bad, you are NOT alone.

😉 But, we had too many of those stay-indoors days. Hmm… maybe we need some kind of vehicle that has clean glass window and can take us anywhere in winter – on snow, ice…
Have a great day.

Thank you, Raj. Minnesota’s winter can be beautiful, that’s for sure. 😉
Sometime the real scene is prettier; sometime it is the other way around. I think the real scene was much better in this case.
Good night.

We have had a rather mild winter. No snow, rainy days as is normal for Oregon.. I always tend to be on the chilly side regardless.. I love the beauty of snow but it has it’s disadvantages for those that work and go to school..

Now I remember that you moved to Oregon. That’s a pretty state, which has many beautiful gardens. Good thing I don’t work anymore. When it is too cold, I stay home 😉

Minnesota seems like a place which is so easy to love, Helen! Exceptional pictures. Would you consider it a good budget travel destination?

Thanks for your kind comment. I am not sure I am the right person to answer your question. MN is a nice place to visit. We have pretty parks, and Mall of America 😉 And hotel should be cheaper than many big cities. For someone who likes camping, I would say, it is definitely a good budget travel destination.
Have a wonderful day.

Snow is beautiful and makes for beautiful photos as seen in this blog. The lone tree along side the road is my favorite.

I love MN! It has 4 seasons! Winter is cold sometime, but we do have great snow removal team! Did you see the super moon? It was cloudy here ;-(

I had an old professor from Minne-snowda and he loved sweater weather and was just a cool guy – that was where I heard the term – but I must admit I use it too much – when I meet people from there – but it is always new with them
