I love snow. It’s the coldness that I have problem with. I still remember seeing snow the first time. It was a couple of months after I came to the Unites States. One day, my landlady shouted, “Snow! It’s snowing!” I rushed out of the house, looked up toward the sky, while opening my arms trying to catch as much snow as I could. I didn’t know how long I was out there. I turned myself around and around, giggling happily; I believed they were blessings from the sky; I thought I was one lucky person.
Many years have passed since then. Whenever it snows, I would still sit by the window, watching snow fall. If it’s warm enough, I would still go out catching some.
I know what you are thinking. You think I probably wouldn’t love snow that much if I am the one who has to clean our driveway. Well, I do like shoveling “dry and light” snow if it is not too windy and not too cold. 😉
With that said… I don’t mind to have an early spring. Really. (Please?)

Thank you, Maddy. You were right about the icy road. Once I drove on a road and I saw people lined up on both side of the road, like waiting for parade. I got confused, but not for long. The road was covered with ice and EVERY car, including mine, was sliding around. I was so relieved that my car was finally stopped. 😉

I love watching the snow come down too. It’s so relaxing and peaceful. I only shovel off the back deck – maybe 10 feet long so I don’t complain. Love your photos – they look peaceful and relaxing too. 😊

I love snow too, it’s altogether a different world. Everything looks different and lighting is so different. I specifically like that brighter snowy days. Now that I have moved out of snow, my daughter often asks me, how would it feel to touch them? can I taste them? (I am pretty sure she is visualizing her tiramisu)
Only thing I hated was after effects of sleet on my car! I always kept my car sparkling and it was impossible for a couple of months.

Thanks, Raj. Snow is very pretty. We went out this morning. I was hoping to take some good photos in golden hour, but the cloud was too thick. It was still very pretty though.

I agree with you that it’s hard to keep the car clean in winter. That’s why we bought a dozen of car-wash tickets 😉

had to chime in – when my boys were young – they did not see actual snow for a handful of years and we drove to DC one day and they had leftover snowpiles – and the kids climbed them and it was a slice of heaven – and Raj – of course you would note the Lighting changes – ha

Interesting story, Yvette. My nephew lives in VA. I remember how excited my great niece was when she saw show the first time 😉 I wish there is someway we can trade like we give you some snow and you give us some heat. Ha.

and we have had snow regularly each winter for years now- but it was a drought for a while – cold but the snow would pass us-
in 2008 (or 2009 maybe) I remember sitting in a morning meeting with some teachers and the middle shcool math teacher was like “AWe man! snow missed us again” he was pissed – and I guess it is the way the mountains sit – the jet stream moves around us or something .
and how nice that your great niece gets to see you and some snow.

That’s great prior… what we don’t have .. we miss.. 😀 Back in Canadian times, we waited for two weeks of summer for a beach trip, now I can go to the beach anytime, but seldom do. I am about 1km from Arabian sea.

oh lucky you – and I lived beachside for a year and as my spouse was all enamored – sipping coffee at sunrise and like a kid – I found that I took it for granted – but now…. well like you said – we miss what we don’t have – although – the snow I dealt with when I lived in Buffalo – nahhhh – not so much – ha
and the arabian sea sounds so nice

Hi H – well recently I saw like 5 comics about people dying from snow shoveling – they made me laugh – and one had a shovel with a defibrillator on the handle bah
ad so you made a nice note – the difference it is to shovel ““dry and light” snow.
ha
oh and one more comic was the guy met the grim reaper at the end of the driveway and asked him, “Why couldn’t you have showed up before I shoveled the entire driveway”
lol

Fresh snow is always beautiful and so are the pictures Helen. Talking of blessings we have rain and wind. I was outside for a walk but now struggling with ear and headache. Hope all will be OK after a good night sleep.

Speaking of whatever… we had another 3 or 4 inches of snow last night. I was surprised this morning, and immediately opened all curtains so we can enjoy the beautiful scene. 😉 It is very pretty.
