Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: Ground
On our way to Canadian Rockies, we past a town called Wallace in Idaho.
Wallace is a historic city in the Panhandle region of the U.S. state of Idaho and the county seat of Shoshone County in the Silver Valley mining district. Wallace sits alongside the South Fork Coeur d’Alene River (and Interstate 90) and the town’s population was 784 at the 2010 census.
— WikipediaIn 2004, the Mayor proclaimed the city of Wallace, Idaho to be the center of the universe (because it can’t be proven otherwise). Today, a manhole cover represents the exact spot of the Center of the Universe, and it is celebrated yearly by the citizens of Wallace.

Columbia Icefield is huge and amazing. It felt like freezing rain when we were there, so everyone was wet and cold. Still, no one wanted to get back on the bus.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Very cool and interesting photos. Helen!

How can one measure that idaho is the centre of Universe? Universe is expanding therefore the centre keeps on moving. As for the rest of your trip, yup, I will stay longer outside than get on the bus. Lovely b/w shots, Helen. Good evening, Perpetua

Thanks, Lady Oscar. It was indeed a fun trip. I even memorized a Buddhist scrip while riding on the bus. 😉
Good night.

That is amazing!! Which one did you memorize? I usually have a hard time memorizing Buddhist scrip… the only ones I can memorize are mantras and a few short scrip. I am trying to memorize Diamond Sutra. (not completed yet.)

I am a little embarrassed. All I tried to memorize was a very short密集嘛. Does that count as scrip? I didn’t know the English word for it.
It’s hard to memorize anything. Short one like this I can keep saying it until I remember. And it still took a long time. 😉
Have a great day.

It is very helpful. Remembering/memorizing the teachings is like a reminder in our daily life. I have a booklet of 37 Practices for Bodhisattvas in my bag. Whenever I have a moment, I read it over and over again. hopefully I will memorize it someday and practice it more often. ^^
Enjoy ~ so happy to know you are well!
