Spring is here, now I am certain.
Yesterday when my husband came home, he said to me, “Aren’t you looking for flowers for Lois? Our neighbor’s tulips are blooming.”
And I thought he never paid any attention to what I said.
Apparently there is this miserable cold going around here… several people got sick in my neighborhood. I don’t know how it works for others… I knew I recovered when I started thinking of food. (Amy, look what I made 😉
This was the first time I baked this kind of buns (包子) instead of steaming them. My neighbor cleaned our gutters the other day and he likes Chinese hamburgers, but his wife wasn’t so sure about the look of those steamed buns. 😉 Now these buns have the “American” look, but they are a little drier.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
I’m so happy that spring is finally coming to Minnesota 😀 😀

Me, too, Cee. I went out to my yard and checked each bush/plant to make sure it is still alive. I think we lost one ;-( Oh well… many survived. 😉
Have a great day.

😉 I took several photos of tulips. Some with two tulips and some with one. I prefer 3, but none of her plants has 3 flowers on it, so you got one tulip. (I think people said odd number makes better composition 😉
Have a great day.

I think those buns look amazing and would be very tasty with my tea right now 🙂

Good morning, Joanne. Hmm… a lot Chinese food goes well with tea. Maybe I should post more photos so you have some varieties (pretending I know how to make them all). Ha.
Have a good day.

Good morning, Anabel. I don’t know if I am getting less patient or what. It seems like this year I waited for spring to come for a long time.
Come to think about it, maybe the problem has to do with this blogging community. 😉 So many bloggers had posted beautiful flowers on their blogs and that made me anxious… I am glad it’s finally here.
Have a great day.

I know what you mean! It’s frustrating seeing beautiful photos from the Southern Hemisphere, though I also think Spring has been very slow here too this year.

Thanks, Mabel. I gave some to my neighbor and the rest are my lunch 😉 In the morning, I have those without fillings. I haven’t figured out what to eat or snacks…
Have a great day.

It’s ground pork, onions, shallots, red and yellow peppers. It was the first time I made it this way. I had made ground pork with onion, or ground pork with cabbage before. I like these a lot. I think adding shallot makes a lot difference. Maybe because that taste reminds me of the bamboo-leaf-sticky-rice (種子) think my mom made.
My mom’s last name is 譚. Would it be possible your last name is the same?
Have a great day.

I should have known! I used to know a manager with that last name. I have never met anyone from my mother’s side of family. I was hoping 😉

I’ve been enjoying steamed buns here in Japan. I need stronger convincing to satisfy me with baked buns. 🙂

Are you still in Japan? Hard to keep track of you… ha.
