7-day nature photography challenge: day 7

My blogging friend Lois at On Pets and Prisoners has invited me to participate the 7-Day Nature Photography Challenge. Lois is a wonderful blogger. Please visit her blog and say hi 😉

The mission is to post a nature photograph for 7 days and to nominate a fellow blogger each day. Since many bloggers have done this challenge already, I would like to invite anyone who is interested in this challenge to participate. It is fun!

Last night my husband asked me what we were going to do today. Since this is the last day of this photo challenge, it would be nice to end it with some good pictures of 2 or 3 beautiful Minnesota state parks.

“If we drive along the Mississippi river, we will hit at least 3 state parks,” I said.

He didn’t agree. “More naked trees?” he asked.

This morning I woke up with a cold. Lacking energy, I thought maybe I had no choice but posting some old photos. But it is such a beautiful day; I don’t want to stay home! We pumped our bike tires. Five minutes later, we were on the Douglas State Trail.

The Douglas State Trail is a paved 12.5 mile, multiple use trail developed on an abandoned railroad grade. This trail crosses outstanding rural scenery, traversing some of the richest agricultural land in Minnesota.

The trail begins in northwestern Rochester, travels through the small town of Douglas (for which the trail is named) and terminates in Pine Island. It is generally level and wheelchair accessible.

I want to thank Lois for inviting me to this challenge. I enjoy getting out of the house more than I thought I would.

Thanks, Cee. There was a day or two that I thought no way to get this done 😉 Today, I feel it ends so soon. 😉 Now I have to work on getting rid of this cold. ;-(
      Have a great day!

Thanks, Lois. I finally felt better yesterday. Apparently there is something going around in MN. My neighbor had a cold; my husband did too; my nephew was sick… I am glad everyone is getting better now.
      Have a great day.

Hope you’ll feel better soon, Helen! You daughter made the doll, and she was only 15 years old, impressive! Enjoyed the beautiful park walk via your lens. 🙂

Thank you, Yvette. I do feel better now. I hope you will take the challenge! It is fun! It, actually, brought me out of the sad mood 😉

oh that is cool how the challenge did that – and another example of how this blog endeavor has so much RICH value. I found it trickled into my life this week with some needed joy as well – we had a pet pass away (unexpectedly) and the sprinkles of joy or interesting things from the blog world was nice in a few different ways.

anhow, hope you have a nice day too and be back by later my friend – ❤

Oh, Yvette, it must be hard to lose a pet. Sorry to hear that. I have never had a pet. I always envy people who have one, but since I didn’t grew up with any, it is hard for me to make up my mind to own one.
Hope you feel better and better.

Thanks H! And things are better – but I noticed the grief now hits in waves (as opposed to the heavier full days) – but one day at a time!!
I think a pet can “add color to your rainbow” and so it might be a refreshing gift to your life. However – it really comes down to timing in your life and correct seasons – like how much time you have and your needs as a person. When we got our first set of dogs in the 1990s it was a bad decision because we were gone too much (cats would have met our needs better) and we ended up moving thousands of miles and gave our dogs away – but our second set came at the perfect time and I also had the chance to properly bond with them and the kids were at a good age – but then there are different dog types – I could go on and on – but whew Helen – you should seriously consider it -💕💕💕💕

What you said makes a lot of sense. We do travel a lot nowadays — trying to get all the travel done while we can. Maybe I will wait and think about it again.
Right before I retired, I thought maybe I should get a dog (I think I am a dog person), so I went online to take a survey to see what kind of dog I should get. The survey result… the dog I wanted didn’t exist 😉
