My blogging friend Lois at On Pets and Prisoners has invited me to participate the 7-Day Nature Photography Challenge. Lois is a wonderful blogger. Please stop by her blog and say hi 😉
The mission is to post a nature photograph for 7 days (can be more than one, right? 😉 and to nominate a fellow blogger each day. Since many bloggers have done this challenge already, I would like to invite anyone who is interested in this challenge to participate. It is fun!

We visited Sakatah State Park this afternoon. It was 50+ degrees. 😉
Sakatah Lake State Park is an 842-acre (341 ha) state park of Minnesota, USA, on a natural widening of the Cannon River near the town of Waterville. The Dakota native to the area called it “Sakatah” which means “singing hills”. — Wikipedia
We had some warm days in between the cold days, so I thought trees should start turning a little green now. To our disappointment, this was what we saw.
Looking hard, I did find some new leaves.
Minutes later, we saw a so-so lake. Just as we were ready to quit, we noticed a beautiful island that has many white trees (probably birch tress) and lots of birds. Park ranger told us we can canoe to the island in summer. “If you like to take photos, you will love there,” he said. Then he added, “But I have to tell you that it doesn’t smell good there.”
In the following picture, you will see the island in the middle, but you probably can’t see any bird. Now I have a good reason to buy a new lens.
Today happened to be the control-burn day in this park.
We asked one of those guys what his job is. He said he is a naturalist.
“Close enough,” I said and I took a photo of him.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
This made me smile 😊

Thanks, Lois. Hope you don’t think I am annoying 😉 I really want to send some flower to you to say hi to my dear friend, that’s all. Only two more days ;-(
I am sure you have seen Picasso’s “Flowers and Hands” painting. If not, here it is:

We have this poster hanging on the wall. Anyway, I was copying one of his hands 😉
Have a great day.

No, you are not annoying me–I am most grateful for your posts! The Picasso–I bought a Christmas ornament with this painting on it for ‘Peace on Earth.’ Great minds, Helen, great minds…..
