My daughter is coming home today. I think most parents at my age know what that means. I have been cleaning her room and shining her bathroom for the last two days (was it three?) , trying to make it look and feel like a 5-star hotel room even though the rest of the house can barely qualifies as 2.
On one of her home trip a couple of years ago, one day I caught her busy doing laundry.
“What are you washing?” I asked.
“Bed sheets,” she said.
“Something happened?”
“No,” she said, “I haven’t washed them for a long time, so they must be dirty.”
I couldn’t believe what I heard.
“What are you talking about? I washed them the day before you came home. Every time!”
It’s must be my imagination. To me, it seems like the whole house comes alive when kid is home. I enjoy and treasure every minute of it.

me too when my kids-adult kids-grandkids and great grandkids are here. So much life an dove and wonderful energy.

Hi Helen, my kids are still small, at home, but I can’t imagine how it will be when they leave the house. I want to keep them close forever. Have fun with your girl. Maybe post same photos of all the fun you will have together.

Good morning, Elizabeth. Treasure your time with your kids!!! In the blink of an eye, they grow up becoming an adult. I still don’t know what has happened. How could my daughter grow up so much, so fast? (and I am still as young as before 😉

Thanks for stopping by. I think we should start a support group for mothers so we can support each other 😉 The kid left today. We (my husband and I) didn’t feel like to say much, didn’t feel like to cook (eat leftover)… it will take a couple of days to go back to normal, I think. ;-(
